an interest in forming a network that will focus on mentoring,
fellowship and collaboration in an effort to address common
concerns that face our youth in today’s society. The
Men-to-Men/Youth Empowerment Coalition, created under
the umbrella of the county’s Livable Communities
Initiative, is designed to nurture and guide young men
and women from the ages of 11 to 18 who are in need of positive
influences from constructive role models in Prince George’s
County.
Program Purpose
- To provide a mentoring and cultural enrichment program
in order to promote social maturity.
- To make an investment in the future of Prince George’s
County’s youth.
- Focus on improving the participant’s (mentee) decision-making
ability and conduct.
- Mentors will function as primary resources. Their role
is to facilitate the youth’s development by teaching,
coaching, counseling and advocacy, as needed.
- To provide mentor/mentee events and activities that provides
opportunities for mentees to become exposed to a variety
of educational and cultural experiences.
