The Department of Housing and Community Development is comprised of three governmental agencies: The Department of Housing and Community Development, the Housing Authority and the Redevelopment Authority

VCrest

The Housing Authority and the Redevelopment Authority are quasi-governmental agencies, whereas the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) serves as the County chartered department responsible for the implementation of regulations of the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) at the local level.

The Mission of the Prince George's County Department of Housing and Community Development is to expand access to a broad range of quality housing, and to create safe, well planned, attractive residential communities which enable families to become stable and self-sufficient. This mission is achieved through the daily operations, management and implementation of the programs listed on the left side of our home page.

Last fall, the Prince George’s County Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) hosted a “Developer’s Roundtable” to present the procedures for accessing HOME funds for local real estate development projects.  DHCD also discussed the fundamentals for becoming a community housing development.

Questions and responses from the Developer’s Roundtable can be found by clicking here.

The HOME application can be found below.
