Our Mission

To promote environmental awareness and community involvement through outreach efforts, planning, development, and implementation of environmental programs to protect our communities and natural resources.

The Environmental Services Group (ESG) is dedicated to the management, restoration and protection of the air, water and natural resources. Our special programs focus on the quality of streams, industrial and residential pollution prevention, revitalization of older communities, restoration of the Anacostia River and its tributaries, preservation and replacement of trees, and the protection of the Chesapeake Bay. Through our many programs and ongoing initiatives, Prince George’s County is recognized as a national model for ecosystem management and restoration.
