Homicide Unit
About Us
The Homicide Unit of the Prince George’s County Police Department is responsible for the investigation of all murders, suicides, suspicious deaths, accidental deaths (except by motor vehicle), arson-related deaths, conspiracy to commit murder, serious assault upon Prince George’s County Detention Center inmates requiring hospitalization, all contact shootings from other law enforcement agencies where injury or death occur and child abuse cases resulting in death.
This website is designed to provide information about our investigations conducted by our Investigators.
Although these investigations are conducted by Prince George’s County Investigators, some investigations occur within municipal jurisdictions with Police Departments that complete their own Uniform Crime Reports. To obtain certified Uniformed Crime Report numbers, you can access that agency's information from the main Prince George’s County website.
The Homicide Investigator
NO GREATER HONOR will ever be bestowed on an officer or a more profound duty imposed on him when he is entrusted with the investigation of the death of a human being.
It is his duty to find the facts, regardless, of color or creed, without prejudice, and let no power on earth deter him from presenting these facts to the court without regard to personality.
