Counterfeit Personal Check

If you are the victim of a returned counterfeit personal check:

1. File an incident report with the Prince George's County Police Department, if the incident occurred within the jurisdictional limits of Prince George's County.
2. To file an incident report call (301)333-4000. This will put you in touch with the Telephone Reporting Unit where you will be issued a set of case numbers. The case number is the number the police department uses to file the report.
3. You should call the Financial Crimes Unit to make an appointment with a detective to discuss your case. The telephone number to the Financial Crimes Unit is (301)772-4237.
