The Support Services oversees the major investigative and support divisions within the Police Department and is commanded by a Deputy Chief. Support Services has four Divisions under its umbrella of responsibility each commanded by a Major.

The Criminal Investigations Division conducts investigations of major criminal offenses. It consists of a Homicide Section, Robbery Section, Special Crimes Section, and Special Investigations Section.

The Narcotic Enforcement Division conducts investigations into illegal drug activity. The investigations are classified into two levels and handled by either the Major Narcotics Sections or the Technical Operations Section.

The Forensic Services Division conducts analysis and examination of forensic evidence to advance criminal investigations. It is composed of the Firearms Examination Unit, Computer Forensics, DNA Laboratory, Drug Laboratory, Evidence Section and the Regional Automated Fingerprint Identification Section.

The Technical Services Division oversees vital Departmental support sections. It is composed of the Records Section, Auxiliary Services Section, Auxiliary Investigations Section, Mobile Technology & Certification, Communications Section, and Fleet Management.
