Inmate Mail and Money
If you want to provide money for an inmate
When a person is processed into the Correctional Center, all money and valuables are inventoried and secured by our Finance Office. Money is counted and deposited into an institutional account in the inmate’s name. Valuables are labeled and placed in a locked storage area.
Friends and family may leave up to a total of $150.00 per week in the form of a money order made out to Prince George’s County for (inmate’s name). It is important that Prince George’s County be specified. No cash or checks will be accepted. The Finance Office is open on Mondays from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. and from Tuesdays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Inmates released on weekends will have their money and valuables mailed to them or they may elect to return to collect them during regular weekday hours. There is a secured box located in the Reception area to leave money orders for inmates. You may also send them by mail.
If you need to speak to someone in the Finance Office, you may call (301) 952-7147 during the hours specified above.
