STATEMENT OF THE COUNCIL CHAIR

The ongoing fiscal decline detailed in recent correspondence from the Dimensions Healthcare Corporation, which operates the County's hospital system, is troubling news.  Efforts to secure State funding for the hospital during the 2006 session of the Maryland General Assembly are already underway, but it is important to note that the Prince George's County Council remains firmly committed to working together for the substantive changes and long-term solutions that must occur to achieve a more viable hospital system and provide effective service to the community.
