STATEMENT FROM COUNCIL CHAIR
The Prince George’s County Council is committed to providing access to quality healthcare to Prince George’s County residents. The County Council has approved every funding request submitted by the County Executive on behalf of the hospital system, appropriating more than $65 million to date.
Despite our continuing and significant investments in support of hospital operations, the Dimensions Healthcare Corporation, faced with substantial debt in excess of a hundred million dollars, continues to be in serious financial trouble, demonstrating that it has not managed the hospital system well.
Dimensions agreed in January 2007 to reconstitute its Board of Directors, a commitment which remains unfulfilled.
The Prince George’s County Council urges all stakeholders to remain committed to the basic overall objective of providing access to quality healthcare to the citizens of Prince George’s County.
