Council Member Ingrid M. Turner host Tax Assessment Forum
Prince George’s County Council Member Ingrid M. Turner (D) – District 4, hosted a Tax Assessment Forum for the residents of District 4 on Thursday, October 21, 2010, where she and Senator Douglas J.J. Peters spoke with over 100 residents, civic groups and neighborhood organizations about tax assessments and their efforts to make taxes more bearable for citizens.
The Tax Assessment Forum featured a presentation by Acting Tax Assessment Officer John Hensley and Assistant Director of Finance for Prince George’s County, Stan Willis. Mr. Hensley and Mr. Willis provided specific information to the District 4 residents regarding property tax reassessments, Homestead caps with regard to these new assessments and how future tax bills will be affected. Residents had the opportunity to ask questions, express viewpoints, and share their concerns.
The Tax Assessment Forum was held at Reid Temple African Methodist Episcopal Church in Glenn Dale, Maryland.
