Dear
Friends,
This
newsletter advertises a variety of activities that residents of
District 3 may want to attend, including: the opening of the
Riverdale Park Farmers Market, Maryland Day at the University of Maryland,
and a special event at the recently reopened Marietta House in Glenn
Dale. For the next six weeks, the County Council will be
thoroughly reviewing the County Budget and will hold several public
hearings, which are listed in the right column. I also
encourage you to visit the County’s new Budget website which includes
copies of the proposed budget for the next fiscal year and the Audits and Investigations Office
will be posting their review of the County budget online at this
location. The budget website can be found here.
As you have probably heard, WMATA and MDOT have selected a developer
team, which includes Forest City and Urban Development, to develop a
mixed use project at the New Carrollton Metro Station. This is
a great opportunity for our county and is key to implementing the New
Carrollton Metro Plan which so many of you participated in.
Take
care and please call our office with any questions,
Thank you,

Eric
Olson
Council Member, District 3
