The Cable Television Commission enforces the County's franchise agreements with Comcast Cable Communications and Verizon Maryland, Inc. Prince George's County cannot set rates nor require the carriage of certain cable channels on the cable system.

If you have a complaint about any aspect of your cable service, including billing, call Comcast at (301) 499-1980 or (301) 731-4260 or Verizon at 1-877-434-6788.  Or, contact either company on-line at   www.comcast.com and http://www.verizon.com/fiostv.  You must give both companies an opportunity to resolve the complaint. However, if you are unable to resolve the complaint, you may contact the Cable Television Commission at (301) 952-3990 or fax (301) 952-3030.

The Cable Television Commission recommends as a safety precaution, that subscribers request that Comcast and Verizon employees show proper identification prior to performing the service call. Comcast offers a Senior Citizen Discount on Expanded Basic and Preferred Service to subscribers 65 years or older. Comcast subscribers can contact  customer service, at (301) 499-1980 or (301) 731-4260 for more information or for frequently asked questions visit www.comcast.com.  Verizon does not offer a Senior Citizen Discount, however for frequently asked questions contact customer service at 1-877-434-6788 or visit http://www.verizon.com/fiostv.

The Cable Television Commission meets each month and the meeting is open to the public. The Commission meetings are scheduled for the fourth Wednesday of each month at 6:30pm in the Largo Government Center. Because schedules can and do change, we advise you contact the Cable Television Division at (301) 952-3990 to confirm the date and time of the next meeting.

If you live in an incorporated municipality, it is likely that municipality grants and enforces its own franchises. In that case, the Prince George's County Cable Television Commission has no authority over cable television matters within that incorporated municipality. Your "franchise authority" information should be on your cable bill.
