Dear Gorgeous Prince Georgians:
I certainly hope each of you is enjoying your summer, getting some much needed rest; and taking some exciting vacations.
I wanted to take this opportunity to update you regarding Prince George’s Women United to Help Others (WUTHO). I am elated to once again report that you continue to HEED THE CALL TO SERVICE by helping our young people reach their full potential; and the WUTHO initiative is continuing to affect the lives of our citizens in positive ways.
On June 13, 2007 I hosted the first “Coping In Extraordinary Times Conference” sponsored by Prince George’s WUTHO. This conference was designed to provide special coping mechanisms for our county residents who are experiencing difficulties as a result of the extraordinary economic times in our County and Nation. It was a tremendous success! Attendees received a wealth of information from outstanding experts. They were presented with information on how to manage their finances; mental and physical health; fitness; nutrition; parenting and employment. Because of the overwhelming demand, a second “Coping In Extraordinary Times Conference” will be held on September 26, 2009 at 8:30 a.m. at the Prince George’s Sports and Learning Center in Landover. I am extremely happy that WHUR 96.3 will be partnering with us that day and will broadcast live from the Center.
Please stay tuned as we continue to strive to make positive changes in the lives of all our citizens. Please check the WUTHO link often for details on upcoming events.
With Gratitude,
Leslie E. Johnson
