pgwuthologoPrince George’s Women United To Help Others (PGWUTHO) was the vision of First Lady Leslie E. Johnson. Mrs. Johnson believes that each person’s life should be committed to community service and helping to uplift others. Therefore, Mrs. Johnson thought it imperative to establish a program that would act as a vehicle for Prince George’s women from all walks of life to use their wisdom, skills, special gifts and resources to help girls and young women rise to their full potential and become future leaders in Prince George’s County and beyond. County Executive Jack Johnson shared this vision and belief; and so at the 22nd Annual Prince George’s Women’s History Luncheon celebrated on March 22, 2007, Prince George’s Women United To Help Others (PGWUTHO) was unveiled as another Livable Communities Initiative of Prince George’s County Executive Jack Johnson.

Prince George's Women United To Help Others Participants in Action

PGWUTHO is comprised of a myriad of successful women united by their common desire to assist young women and girls in reaching their full potential.  Your inclusion in PGWUTHO starts with your self-initiated, voluntary assistance to any one or more girls and/or young women who would benefit from learning how your success was achieved and what steps she could take to gain momentum and guarantee success in reaching her own goals and aspirations.

PGWUTHO participants have diverse backgrounds and are doing many wonderful things in the community.  The following video is a Participant Action Testimonial (PAT). We hope you are inspired and uplifted by these stories.
