Prince George's Women United To Help Others

Another Livable Communities Initiative

Message From First Lady Leslie E. Johnson for Prince George’s WUTHO

Hello Gorgeous Prince Georgians:

Greetings! I am so very happy to report on the many positive things that have occurred since the unveiling in March 2007 of Prince George’s Women United to Help Others and the subsequent conference in October 2007 “Prince George’s Women United to Help Others - Connecting Our Talents Conference.”

YOU HAVE HEEDED THE CALL TO SERVICE. We asked you to share your gifts and talents with girls and young women in our beloved County so that they will reach their full potential and you have done so in a BIG WAY.

Countless and meaningful connections have been made. I would like to share some of those phenomenal stories with you: Please Click Here To Download Stories

I would also like to highlight organizations like Sisters 4 Sisters, founded by Executive Director Carolyn Washington, whose members donated 100 sets of undergarments to “Leslie’s House,” immediately after attending the conference. Sisters 4 Sister’s partnership and efforts have been phenomenal.  Click Here to Link to Leslie’s House

The Prince George’s Volunteer Center staff led by its dynamic leader Teresa Gardner-Williams works together with Prince George’s WUTHO everyday by serving as a conduit that further links volunteers with many of the worthwhile non-profit organizations housed in their database.

Lastly, I want to thank the numerous organizations that have invited me to come and speak about Prince George’s WUTHO. I am always excited to speak to your organization about how your members may participate in this wonderful initiative. Please contact Eugenia Brown Mercer at (301) 265-8410, to schedule a visit.

Ladies, your commitment speaks volumes and is positively affecting lives everyday. I am thankful to each of you for “stepping –up” to the plate and answering my call to action.

Email us at pgwutho@co.pg.md.us . We are eager to hear your story of service/connection and become our next Participant Action Testimonial (PAT), which is featured on the County’s website. If you need help getting started, let us know and we will be of service to you.

With gratitude, many thanks and an abundance of appreciation,

Leslie E. Johnson
