Public health professionals are available to present the following classes to employers or to community groups.

Diabetes (Series of 4 sessions, 2 hours per session)
This structured program will teach you the latest information about diabetes. Learn how to control it and not let it control you. Family members are welcome.

Eat Well--Live Well (1 hour)
This program focuses on healthy eating habits based on the Food Guide Pyramid. Learn new ways of shopping, cooking, eating out and about the latest nutrition information.

Fat and Cholesterol: What are the Facts? (30 minutes to 1 hour)
This program will help you understand what those lab results such as serum cholesterol, HDL and LDL mean. Learn ways to lower your serum cholesterol through changes in diet and physical activity.

Eat 5-A-Day For Better Health (45 minutes)
Learn easy ways to eat at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables a day and improve your health. This program can be tailored to focus on specific concerns such as cancer prevention, heart disease or weight management.

Healthy Eating for Healthy Weight (1 hour)
This program will introduce you to managing your weight in a healthy way. Learn how to set weight goals, make low-fat food choices, control portions and increase your activity level.

High Blood Pressure (1 hour)
This program will teach you why high blood pressure is a serious health problem. You will learn ways to change lifestyle habits which contribute to high blood pressure.

Osteoporosis (1 hour)
Learn what osteoporosis is, and how to prevent it. This program can be tailored to include information on diagnosis and treatment.

Risky Business (30 minutes to 1 hour)
This program will help you identify your risks for developing cardiovascular disease. It will discuss lifestyle factors which you can change to improve your health.

Walkways 101 (1 session – 2 hours)
Learn how to get the most from walking as an activity for health and fitness. Includes a pedometer.

Walkways (4 sessions – 2 hours each, ideally offered over 8 weeks)
Promotes walking as exercise, pedometer use and healthy eating.
