Tobacco Use Prevention and Cessation
The Tobacco Use Prevention and Cessation Program helps prevent and reduce the use of tobacco products by Prince George's County residents.
A number of community-based organizations, hospitals, academic institutions and other organizations work in partnership with the program staff to prevent the initiation of tobacco use among young people, and to ultimately help County residents lead more healthy and productive lives.
Tobacco Use Prevention and Cessation staff also enforce County Code CB65-2001. This law prohibits the sale and distribution of tobacco products to minors. Merchants and their employees who violate this law are subject to civil fines.
