Pregnancy Prevention and Birth Control
Adolescence can be a very exciting as well as confusing time for a young person, especially if they are sexually active or are thinking about it. For those who do not want to have a baby right now, there are a number of safe and easy ways to prevent pregnancy.
The Healthy Teens and Young Adults Program provides pregnancy prevention and birth control services to all young women between the ages of 10 and 21, regardless of their ability to pay. These services are available at the Healthy Teens Center, where our staff will explain the various types of birth control methods available, and help you choose the best personal birth control method. The Healthy Teens Center also provides pregnancy tests, Pap smears, and tests for sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV/AIDS tests.
Women under the age of 18 may receive pregnancy prevention/birth control services without parental consent.
For more information, call the Healthy Teens Center at 301-324-5141.
