Wet Season Percolation Testing is Delayed!

Homeland Security Video Dr. Shell talks about the Health Department and Emergency Preparedness
Homeland Security Summit video shows growth and achievement of the Office of Homeland Security since its creation in 2005

If you have undeveloped property in Prince George's County and..

  • are planning to build soon, and
  • public sewer cannot service the property

Percolation TestingIf your property meets these criteria, a PERC test is required before any septic system or on-site sewage disposal system can be installed there.

Wet season PERC testing is done seasonally, but due to lower than normal ground water levels and insufficient precipitation during the past year, PERC testing will be delayed from its usual February 1st start date.

Unless the County receives a significant amount of precipitation within the next month, the Department may recommend that lots requiring wet season testing be deferred until next year. Notification will go out by the end of February if wet season testing will be deferred until next year.
