Our Vision

Our vision is for every household in Prince George’s County has a decent and safe place to live, that is located in a viable neighborhood which provides for its socio-economic, educational, recreational and service needs. 

Our Mission

The mission of the Prince George’s County Department of Housing and Community Development and its Housing Authority is to expand access to a broad range of quality housing; create safe, well planned, attractive residential communities and enable families to become self-sufficient and community to become stable.
The beneficiaries of our efforts are individuals and families with housing or community improvement needs.  Special emphasis is given to low and moderate income people who live or work in the County.  We carry out our mission through aggressive grantsmanship; creative financing; innovative planning; and productive partnerships with public, private and community based organizations.
