Planning and Evaluation Division

Mission/Purpose: To provide support and resources to the three major Divisions within the Department of Family Services as well as the surrounding community. The Planning and Evaluation Division acts as the central repository for data and information across the entire human services continuum. In addition, The Planning and Evaluation Division is responsible for collaborating with all Administrations on several key areas:

• Contract Management- Ensuring the development and ratification of all departmental contracts with vendors in the community. The contract management function is an integral part of the administration as it allows the department to maintain important relationships in the community as well as retain fiscal solvency for the department.
• Development and adherence to contracted performance measures- This function paired with the evaluation function, serves as a mechanism to evaluate the effectiveness of programs and vendors. It also provides necessary insight on community needs and resources.
• Training- The Planning and Evaluation Division provides much needed training to the community as well as other public and private agencies. Training modules include Grant Writing, Caring for the Caregiver, Contract Management and various other topics such as Women's Issues, Disability Services and Senior Services. The Office also coordinates and recommends additional internal training for staff.
• Public Education and Outreach- This function focuses specifically on outreach to the community by providing information on the Department's service array and by working collaboratively with the Department's five Boards and Commissions.
