History

In 1986, Prince George's County founded the Commission for Individuals with Disabilities. These Commissioners share their knowledge in order to help the County meet the needs of citizens who have disabilities. The Commission has 20 volunteer members who are appointed by the County Executive and confirmed by the County Council for a two-year term. Consumers with disabilities, public and private business, provider agencies, and the general public made up the Commission. All members must be residents of the County.
