Candidate Filing

The candidate filing deadline for the 2014 Gubernatorial Election is February 25, 2014 at 9:00pm.

All County Offices will appear on the 2014 ballot and Board of Education - School Board Districts 2, 3, 6 and 9.

Disclaimer

The Certificate of Candidacy that you filed is based on your current voter registration record, which contains office districts (Congressional, legislative, school board, etc.) prior to the implementation of any applicable redistricting plans. Once those plans are implemented or changed due to legal challenge, the district for the office for which you filed may change. We will automatically move your candidacy to your new district. If you chose to withdraw, you will need to submit a Certificate of Withdrawal. Your filing fee will not be refunded.

Candidate Filing Information

Q. What are the filing requirements necessary to become a candidate?

You must be a resident of the District for which you are filing, a registered voter, and complete and file the following:

  • Candidate Information Sheet.
  • Statement of Organization - Prior to filing Certificate of Candidacy, each candidate must file a campaign account. A campaign account is established by filing a Statement of Organization with the State Board of Elections.
  • Financial Disclosure statement must be filed at the time of filing the Certificate of Candidacy.
  • Filing Fee - $25.00. The fee must be paid by either check, money order or cash.
