Adoption Success Stories
“JOSIE”
August 21, 2008 – No matter what form it takes, there’s not much worse you can do to your pet than to abuse the trust he or she has in you. Dumped by her owner at an intersection on Route 301, a mixed Boxer named Josie followed her instincts and ran off into the woods instead of onto the busy highway. Fortunately for Josie, a Good Samaritan was able to obtain the tag number of the vehicle and phoned authorities to inform them of the situation.
A Prince George’s County Animal Control Officer responded to the complaint. Thankfully, the officer was able to locate Josie and brought her to the County’s Animal Control Facility. Although thin and malnourished at only six months, she was still quite cute and had a great personality. A rescue group fostered Josie until she was brought back to full health, and then found her a great new home.
