In March 2005, the County Executive reenacted the Minority Business Opportunities Commission (MBOC). The Commission is comprised of eleven (11) members who shall be residents of Prince George’s County. Whenever possible, members should be selected from the business or legal community. Additionally, at least one member should be a citizen representative.

The members shall be appointed by the County Executive subject to confirmation by the County Council. Four (4) of the eleven (11) Commission members shall be appointment by the County Executive upon the recommendation of the County Council. They serve a four-year-term.

The Commissioners meet monthly to discuss issues relating to the MBE community and propose recommendations and strategies to meet MBE objectives.
