Applying & Submitting Applications
Applicants must submit a Prince George's County Government Application Form for all County jobs. We encourage you to submit your application using our on-line application form, which accompanies each job posting, but some positions will require that you use the traditional mail method. In such cases, you are likely to be asked to submit an official application form in addition to your resume. This is to ensure that certain important information is not omitted.
The Office of Human Resources Management must receive completed employment applications by 5 p.m. or the completed applications must be postmarked on the closing date listed on the job announcement. Any late application shall not be processed.
Applications may be submitted in one of the following ways:
- By mail or In person: Applications can be delivered in person or mailed to:
Office of Human Resources Management
1400 McCormick Drive
Largo, Maryland, 20774
from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday (excluding holidays).
- By fax: Unless it is specified in the posting that applications must be sent by mail, you may fax your application and resume and other requested information at 301-883-6468. The fax line is open 24 hours a day, (may be busy during peak periods).
- By e-mail/on-line: Prince George's County Office of Human Resources Management is able to receive applications via the On-line Application Form. In each poster, you will notice an "Apply on-line" button through which you may send in your application directly. Through this application form (specifically Step 4), you will be able to submit your resume in .TXT format through the use of the "copy & paste" technique.
The County does not guarantee the quality and completeness of documents submitted. On-line applications are accepted only for preliminary screening. All applicants shall be required to sign submitted applications and provide proof of Veteran's Preference (if applicable) at anytime during the recruitment and/or examination process.
The applicant shall be held responsible for the accuracy and integrity of information submitted. The County may at any time during recruitment and examination and/or after employment conduct verification investigation of data submitted on all applications.
The County reserves the right to withdraw announcements at anytime and without notice. Acceptance, of applications for vacant jobs, does not guarantee employment with the County.
No acknowledgement of on-line applications is made. However, the County may ask applicants for additional information should such be required.
Applicants are required to submit a separate application for each announcement regardless of perceived similarity in nature and variety of job, classification, minimum qualification and Department/Agency.
