Training Academy

The Fire/EMS Training Academy of the Prince George’s County Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department is responsible for the sponsorship, coordination, and, facilitation of emergency services training for all Department members. 

In order to meet the complex and dynamic needs of the Department, the Academy provides unparalleled training and educational programs, designed with a focus on quality, to enhance the performance and professional development of Department members to better serve the citizens and residents of Prince George’s County, Maryland. 

The Academy campus consists of four classrooms; a three-story, 5000 square foot, multi-purpose burn building; flashover simulator; and an emergency medical services simulation lab.

It is the mission of the Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Training Academy to provide comprehensive, quality training and education programs for all fire, rescue, and emergency medical services personnel in order to create and maintain a competent and professional workforce needed to support and accomplish the mission of the Prince George’s County Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department.

The vision of the Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Training Academy is to become a recognized regional leader in providing premier fire, rescue, and emergency medical services training and education through the use of consistent quality training strategies within a structured environment, consisting of qualified instructors.
