Legal Services For The Elderly

This request for applications is issued by the Prince George’s County Department of Family Services Aging and Disabilities Services Division (Area Agency on Aging). The Area Agency on Aging is seeking qualified applicants to provide free legal services to the elderly 60 years of age and older. Legal assistance services to be provided include issues related to: health care, income, public benefits (Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, SSI, food stamps), employment, consumer complaints, nursing home residents rights, utilities, guardianship/conservatorship, wills and estates.

In order to provide legal services in Prince George’s County, a provider must enter into a contractual agreement with Prince George’s County, Maryland. The amount of the grant award for these services is $63,840 for twelve months, beginning October 1, 2017 –September 30, 2018.

Applications are available for pick-up Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. from the Prince George’s County Department of Family Services, Harriett Hunter Building, 6420 Allentown Road, Camp Springs, MD 20748. Request for Applications Home Health Homemaking Services

This request for applications is issued by the Prince George’s County Department of Family Services Aging and Disabilities Services Division. The Department of Family Services Aging and Disabilities Division is seeking qualified contractors to provide home homemaking and home health personal care services in the homes of older adults and individuals with disabilities throughout Prince George County. Homemaking includes, but is not limited to: personal care, light housekeeping, grocery shopping, meal planning and preparation, assistance with dressing, bathing, and hair washing, bed making, help with therapeutic exercise, assistance with walker and medical equipment. The home care contractor must have Medicare/Medicaid Home Health Agency Certification and/or be accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). All employees must be bonded. Two contracts are needed, one to provide homemaking services to consumers residing in the Southern area of the County and one to provide homemaking services to consumers residing in Northern area of the County.

In order to provide homemaking and home health personal care services in Prince George’s County, a provider must enter into a contractual agreement with Prince George’s County, Maryland. The amount of the grant award for these services is $115,000 for a six-month period, beginning January 1, 2018 – June 30, 2018.
