Aging and Disabilities Resource Center

Prince George's County's Aging and Disabilities Services Division provides and supports a broad range of services and programs for older adults, persons with disabilities, family members, and other caregivers who want to plan for future needs. We provide information and assistance on services and available to older adults and persons with disabilities in Prince George's County, who want to remain in the community and lead full lives.

The Aging and Disabilities Services Division ensures compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. We are committed to encouraging safety, health, independence, and personal choice for the adults we serve and those caring for them.

 

Family Caregiver Program


The Family Caregiver Program assists caregivers who provide care to individuals 60 years of age and older. The Family Caregiver Program also assists caregivers with making decisions, identifying benefits, and solving problems for individuals who may be losing their ability to live and care for themselves independently. Finally, the program provides information and assistance to caregivers regarding programs, services and benefits for both the caregiver and the care recipient. State Health Insurance Assistance Program

The State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) provides free, objective, and confidential help to Medicare beneficiaries and their families. SHIP also provides group training and informational forums in the community. The counselors provide one-on-one counseling and assistance via telephone and face-to-face meetings.
