Homicide on Ames Road

Prince George’s County, Maryland …The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred on Ames Road.  

On December 23, 2005, at approximately 8:40 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of Ames Road for the report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they discovered the victim, 39-year-old Froilan Cuellar Martinez of the 100 block of Ames Road, inside an apartment with gunshot wounds.   He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Investigators believe the victim was inside an apartment when several suspects forced their way inside and began shooting.   The victim was shot multiple times and another male (who was also inside the apartment) was shot once in the arm.  His injuries are not life threatening.  There are no detailed descriptions of the suspects and a motive has not been established. 

The Police Department is asking anyone with information about this case to call the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit at (301) 772-4925.   Callers wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS; a cash reward is available for tips that lead to the arrest and indictment.  In addition, Chief Melvin High has created an additional reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment of violent crimes in Prince George’s County.  Call the Violent Crimes Tip line at 1-866-698-7424 to leave an anonymous tip.
