Prince George’s County, Maryland…The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating four unrelated homicides that
occurred on September 2, 2005. An arrest warrant has been obtained in one of the cases.
On September 2, 2005, at approximately 3:10 p.m., officers responded to the 1500 block of Village Green Drive for a shooting. When officers arrived, they found the victim, 42-year-old Dorsey Tyler of Sheriff Road, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he died a short time later. Robbery appears to be the motive.
At approximately 4:50 p.m., officers responded to the 1700 block of Kenilworth Avenue for the report of a shooting. When they arrived, officers found 18-year-old Abdul Gregory Leftwich suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he died a short time later. Investigators have identified the suspect in this case as 16-year-old James Esau Davis of no fixed address. A warrant is on file charging him with First Degree Murder. He is a black male, 5’10” and a slim build. He has not been located. He may be driving an older model cream or yellow Cadillac.
At approximately 5:10 p.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 1800 block of Ray Leonard Road and found the victim, 27-year-old John Douglas Lewis, Jr. of the 1200 block of Nalley Road, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. Investigators are working on leads in this case.
At 9:55 p.m., officers were called to a shooting in the 1500 block of Ray Road. Once on the scene, officers found the victim, 21-year-old Angelo Lorenzo Braddy of the 5200 block of Kenilworth Avenue, with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene. There are no detailed descriptions of the suspect(s).
The Prince George’s County Police Department is working hard to identify and arrest those responsible for these violent crimes. Chief Melvin High has created a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of suspects
involved in these cases. Additionally, Crime Solvers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for each case.
