Prince George’s County, Maryland…The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred in
Edmonston, Maryland.
On July 16, 2005, at approximately 2:44 a.m., officers responded to the 5100 block of 54th Avenue for the report of a shooting.
When they arrived on the scene, officers found the victim deceased in a small wooded area, with a gunshot wound to the upper
body. The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Willie Strouthurs Bennett Jr. of the 4800 block of 51st Avenue in Edmonston,
Maryland. His body was sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, Maryland for an autopsy. At this time,
there are no detailed descriptions of the suspects.
