National Day of Service Honoring the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Offers Opportunity to Help Haiti

Prince George’s County Council Member Andrea C. Harrison, (D) – District 5, is encouraging constituent contributions to aid the Haitian Relief Effort in the wake of Tuesday’s devastating earthquake in Haiti.

Council Member Harrison, who led a community coat drive during last year’s National Day of Service honoring the legacy of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., says this year’s upcoming holiday offers a prime opportunity to address the dire need in Haiti.

"Dr. King reminds us that 'the time is always right to do what is right'. The people of Haiti are suffering catastrophic losses and need our help now. I am calling on every District 5 citizen who has not already done so, to join me and honor the legacy of Dr. King with their donation to the Haitian Relief Effort."
